Our Students
ECU Sociology students have many interests and eventual career paths. Graduates from our BA and BS programs have gone on to accomplished careers across the range of employment sectors. Our graduates include human resource officers, nonprofit community organizers, entrepreneurs, managers, government employees, higher-education administrators, counselors, school teachers, and social service providers.
The department’s MA graduates have gone on to earn PhDs and become professors across the United States, and become leaders in research agencies, nonprofits, government, and business. ECU’s first LGBTQ organization was born from a Master’s student practicum project in the department, and is now the largest campus-based LGBTQ organization in the UNC system.
