Graduate Assistantship
Financial Assistance
Research assistantships
Financial support is available to a limited number of qualified students in the form of a graduate research assistantship. A full-time assistantship involves 20 hours per week of work for one or more faculty members in the Sociology Department. The stipend is typically $11,000 for the academic year ($5,500 per semester).
In addition, the Sociology Department offers a small number of scholarships ranging from $500 to $5000 each.
Out-of-state tuition waivers
A limited number of waivers are available to highly qualified out-of-state students. A waiver allows the student to pay in-state tuition rates.
Need-based or other financial assistance
Students who wish to apply for need-based or other types of financial assistance should contact the university’s Office of Student Financial Aid.
