It aims to provide services to its members that both generate and promote awareness of the sociology field. The ASA also works at national and international levels to shape the formation of policies and programs that hold the potential to impact sociology today and in the future.

Southern Sociology Society

The Southern Sociological Society is a professional organization that works to promote the further development of sociology as a profession and scientific discipline through the use of academic, professional and ethical tools. The SSS encourages the teaching, research and diffusion of the field of sociology in relation to societal problems, education and everything in between.

Sociologists for Women in Society

Sociologists for Women in Society is a nonprofit professional feminist organization dedicated to:

1. Encouraging the development of sociological feminist theory and scholarship
2. Transforming the academy through feminist leadership, career development, and institutional diversity
3. Promoting social justice through local, national, and international activism
4. Supporting the publication and dissemination of cutting edge feminist social science
